Share
Ready to add some serious flavor to your cooking? Check out homemade infused extra virgin olive oil. With just two simple ingredients – rosemary and garlic – you can create a delicious, aromatic oil that'll take your dishes to the next level.
Here's how to make it:
Step 1: Gather your ingredients. You'll need a few clean sprigs of fresh rosemary and a few cloves of garlic, as well as some great extra virgin olive oil.
Step 2: Crush the peeled garlic cloves and rosemary sprigs a bit with a meat tenderizer (if you don't have one you can use a heavy jar.)
Step 3: Place the rosemary and garlic in a clean empty bottle or jar (we use bottles that have run through the dishwasher and then been air dried to ensure they are totally dry.)
Step 4: Pour enough extra virgin olive oil into the bottle to cover the rosemary and garlic. Leave a bit of empty space on the top of the bottle.
Step 5: Seal the bottle and store it in a cool, dark place for at least a week to allow the flavors to infuse. You can shake the bottle gently every few days to help the process along.
Step 6: After a week, your infused olive oil is ready to use. Simply pour it over your dishes to add some serious flavor and aroma.
That's it – it's as simple as that. With just a few minutes of prep time, you can create a delicious, aromatic infused olive oil that'll take your cooking to the next level. So why not give it a try and see for yourself? Your taste buds (and your dishes) will thank you.
PS Infused olive oil won't last as long as plain olive oil. It's best not to wait too long to use it to ensure the best flavor and quality. It's always a good idea to use your infused olive oil within a reasonable timeframe and to follow proper storage guidelines.
PPS For an incredible final product, use an olive oil that's a flavor bomb on its own:
